We walk by faith
We will need to hear God’s voice before we see what we are looking for.
Psalm 42:7 "Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me." [ESV]
We will need to hear God’s voice before we see what we are looking for.

In my second tribute to Mother’s Day, I want to share a letter God compelled me to write for an earlier blog I created before launching Waterfall of Words. My hope is that this letter will promote mothering as a spirit of love that all women have by the way He designed them. I encourage mature women who want to be mothers to embrace the many non-biological ways that God opens for them to serve as mothers, whether as sisters, as aunts, teachers, or as friends:

Your worth is far above rubies!
Dear Mothers,
I believe mothers have the heart of God: a heart to love and serve. To celebrate Mother’s Day, I am giving away a gift I wrote that was inspired by Proverbs 31 [NIV]. From May 13, 2018, to June 13, 2018, you can download a free copy of my letter, “To The Proverbs 31 Mother” by signing up here. Be blessed and be a blessing by sharing this with the mothers in your life!
For all the ways that women serve as mothers: your worth is far more than rubies!
Happy Mother’s Day!

What is your vision as a writer in 2018?
Happy New Year!
Like many writers, I am thinking about my writing vision for 2018.
May His comfort keep you and His peace relieve you!
Amidst the festive lights, parties, and endless caroling, for some, this Christmas season may a difficult time to celebrate.

On Fridays at 5:00 AM, I join a circle of praying women to begin our day by seeking God. This Friday, our prayer leader taught from Luke 18: 1-8 (NIV).
You are fearfully and wonderfully made!
While reflecting on the fall season, I decided to try my hand at poetic prose.
The following is my tribute to the beauty and majesty of God in this season. I entitled this piece, “Not far from the tree.” I derived the title from the saying, “The apple never falls far from the tree,” which means children tend to reflect the characteristics of their parents. Although there is usually a negative connotation with this saying, I choose to adopt a meaning that connects me to the goodness of my Father. To this end, I found Psalm 139: 14 (ESV) reflects my praise of His works, that is, the beautiful fall foliage, and my gratefulness for the beauty He created as me:
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
I walk outside and stand under a large Norway maple tree. I look up and observe its tall, firm, stately grace consisting of a thick trunk and branches that seem like benevolent arms reaching out. I appreciate the feel of its shade and gentle breeze stirring its leaves. I take a small step around the tree and notice that my foot touches a leaf on the pavement. I recognize that the leaf comes from this tree, as its color and shape look similar to the leaves still attached. I decide to pick up this leaf and study it. The leaf is a deep, purple color and palmate in shape. It feels smooth and leathery to my touch. I turn the leaf over and observe a branching pattern of veins that spreads throughout the entire leaf. Something inside encourages me to cherish this leaf. Its color is dark in tone, like my own skin, and its palmate shape is like my own hand. I am inspired to cherish the magnificence of God, this tree, this leaf, and His magnificence in me.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made! How would you celebrate yourself and His works? Please share with me on Twitter!
How do we watch over our spiritual harvests?
While the fall season is typically associated with harvesting crops, we as Christians should also consider other types of harvests.
Happy Father’s Day!
It seems like all of a sudden, your son has grown up and has stepped out into the world….

Boast with me about your weaknesses and how He powers you!

With more hours of daylight and each quickly melting snowstorm, I see and feel spring is just around the corner.
Let our hope rest in the love of God!
Since the eclipse on August 21, 2017 it seems as if natural disasters have seized the world’s stage. From the landfall of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and an earthquake in Mexico in between these events, tribulations have marked the first weeks of September.
